Just a few days back Facebook owned Instagram announced its reaching of the 400 million users daily target. With that they announced a ton of new updates and features that they have introduced like adding music to your Instagram stories and the trial of a now persistent sticky stories bar that doesn’t seem to go away even when you scroll down.
Well this new sticky feature is supposed to ease users in accessing the stories of the people they follow with minimum trouble. Being stuck at the top, no matter how much you scroll down on Instagram, the stories bar remains persistently at the top. While it seems as an useful feature, for many this could prove to be annoying as after all, not much effort was needed to scroll up and check the stories as earlier. The aim of making the usage of Instagram easier and less complicated does not mean that all new features have to be pummeled over us as it does not bode well for all.
When reached for comment by The Verge over email, an Instagram spokesperson gave the standard new-feature-in-testing comment: “We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you.”
