Looks like Facebook-owned Instagram is on a feature-adding frenzy of late, keeping them in the news almost every day with the highlights being its new Lite and IGTV apps. The latest however, spotted in a small test pool, allows users to ask their followers questions and receive answers. The functionality is dubbed “ask a question,” and has started rolling out at least for some Android users.
First spotted yesterday by Android Police, the feature appears to allow users to ask questions to their followers through Stories. There are already yes/no polls and emoji sliders that can be used with questions. The new feature introduced is open-ended questions. For these questions, the answers can be as long-winded as the followers intend them to be. Beyond this, specific details about the new feature and how it will work are not yet available. Rolled out for a few handful of people, we sure hope that this feature will be available for all pretty soon.
