With the Asus ZenBook quickly establishing itself as a dominant and affordable range in the Indian market, the newest addition – the ZenBook 13 UX331UAL takes the range to a whole new level. With a shape similar to many models of the ZenBook family, the ZenBook 13 is the lightest ever 13.3 inch notebook that comes loaded with an incredible 13.3 inch chassis like some of its other counterparts but yet miraculously weighs only 985 grams. This glorious feat has been achieved due to its lightweight magnesium alloy construction with a matte finish (the first of its kind) instead of the traditional aluminum chassis with a glossy nano imprint treated lid as is the case for most of its siblings.
The ZenBook 13 comes loaded with the fastest and latest 8th Generation Intel Core i “U” series performance processor matched with the fastest 2133MHz DDR4 RAM and M.2 NVME SSDs available, and an unexpected 13.3 inch full HD display (surrounded by super slim “NanoEdge” bezels) with 1920 x 1080 resolutions.
It also comes with an 80% high screen-to-body ratio, 100% sRGB color gamut coverage and a high pixel density of 166ppi. In terms of graphics, the ZenBook offers the Integrated Intel UHD620.
Irrespective of its lightweight and delicate appearance on the outside, the ZenBook 13 has defied all odds by passing the military-grade MIL-STD 810G standard durability test that ensures dependable service in any environment. Not to oversell it, but the ZenBook 13 has also passed ASUS’s own tests that exceed industry standards by leaps and bounds. All these test results make the ZenBook the perfect candidate for reliability and data protection. With a footprint that’s about the size of an A4 sheet of paper, the ZenBook 13 slides easily into any briefcase, backpack or even a handbag.
“We designed the ZenBook 13 UX331UAL to be the world’s lightest and most elegant 13-inch laptop.” – Aken Ke, Director, ASUS Design Center and principal ZenBook designer.
The ZenBook 13, like all other ZenBook models, shares the same tapering edges and ultra slim profile that measures at 310 x 216mm with a 13.9mm edge that is much more thinner than two thin smart phones stacked over each other. These dimensions are amazing when you consider its powerful components that include the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i series processors.
The ZenBook 13’s other key features include high speed memory of 8GB / 16GB DDR4 2133MHz, high speed M.2 NVME PCIe SSDs , Dual band 2×2 802.11ac WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2 and a 50W Lithium-polymer battery with up to 15 hours battery life (thrice the lifespan compared to other batteries with similar capacities). To connect external devices, the ZenBook 13 offers a Type-C 3.1 USB port, two Type-A 3.1 USB ports, one full sized HDMI slot, one micro SD card reader, one DC-in power jack and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.
In terms of sound quality, the ZenBook 13 comes with the Harman Kardon audio system and two high quality stereo speakers along with a smart amplifier. The Operating System options include the standard Windows 10 Home.
With 15 hours worth of battery backup, you won’t have to worry about running hot. The ZenBook 13 has a redesigned cooling system that cools the processors along with the areas where the users’ palms come into contact with it, like the keyboard and palm rest areas. This definitely makes typing cooler and way more comfortable.
The ZenBook 13 features user-friendly display modes to soothe your eyes – Eye Care Mode, Normal Mode, Vivid Mode and Manual Mode. To enhance your video viewing experience, the ZenBook 13 features an advanced video tuning system called ASUS Tru2Life Video Technology that works like those found in high–end TVs and enhances clarity, color, and contrast in videos. This results in colorful, vivid, sharper videos with as much as 150% improvement in contrast.
The ZenBook 13 would be available in Deep Dive Blue and Rose Gold color varients.
